Life Education Caravan...

This morning we were fortunate enough to have our first visit in the Life Education Caravan.  Here we were lucky enough to have educator Chris speak with us about being healthy and happy, positive friendships/relationships.  We also met Harold the Giraffe and Tam (she was plastic!).

The life education caravan day

Today we went to the life education caravan. Chris told us a lot about making new friends. Next he showed us a giraffe called Harold. Harold was very shy but he got to know us very quickly.
Then Chris wanted to show us a video of  Harold's friend because he moved to Wellington. Harold's friend was called Billy. In the video Billy had just come to school and people were doing mean actions to him.
After the video Chris showed the real human body to us but just with a plastic doll. Chris made us all bend down on four legs and then stamped his hands on the ground and then we needed to do it in the same order all around the circle. The last thing Chris did was tell a story that was not real, it is about if someone says something nice to you then a little fire will light up in your chest and when they say something bad to you the fire goes down.
Then Harold told us a joke.
“Why do giraffes have long necks… because they have stinky feet”.
And that is the end of the life education story.

Life Education bus

Today we went in the Life Education Bus. Tam came out  with no skin. We had to tap her body parts and they lit up. I got to tap her lungs and they lit up.
Harold is a funny giraffe. He has a joke but I can’t tell it to you because he does not want us to tell it.

Life education caravan.
This morning when the bell rang room 20 gathered into a line and walked down to the life education caravan.  Chris was waiting by his caravan.  He told us the rules and he told us what we were doing.  Then Chris let us in.

First of all he showed us Harold.  But Harold the giraffe looked a bit sad. Harold explained to us what was wrong.  His best friend Billy was moving to Wellington, because Billy's dad had found a job there.  Room 20 felt bad for Harold so we tried to make Harold feel better.  The first thing we tried was telling Harold that he could make new friends, but Harold still felt bad.  Then we tried saying good things about him, and that kind of cheered him up.

Then Chris decided to show us some parts of the body.

Life Education

When we got to the life van we saw Chris. Chris let us see Harold, but Harold was sad.
Harold was sad because Billy his friend moved to Wellington.

We learn about where food comes from and why do we need food.
Life ed was were you can learn  how to make new friends. You can make more relationships with others in your class or your family.
When we got out from the caravan

we were excited. When we got back to class from the caravan we got to write about the caravan and life ed.

Life education van!!!

Have you ever been to the life education bus?.  Well on the 11th of june room 20 did.  This is what we did.

Every time we go to the life education van there is a different theme this time our theme was friendship.  The first thing we did on our adventure at the life education bus was...sit down!!.  Next we met Harold!!!  he is a giraffe.  He was sad because his best friend named Billy was moving to Wellington because his dad got an offer for a job there.  We watched a video of Billy's first day of school.  Some boys were being very rude.  They were whispering behind his back.  He was sad.
