This term for inquiry the students have been learning and researching about Space and Space Exploration.  They have come up with their own wonderings and followed these wonderings up with exploring the topics through research and presentation.
We have shared some of their wonderings and findings about Space.

TOPIC:  The Sun

5500 degrees	Did you know that the sun's surface is around 5500 degrees!
13600000 degrees	One interesting fact about the sun is that it is 13600000 degrees celsius!
150	Another really cool fact is that  the sun is 150 kilometers  far from the earth!
74%	An interesting fact that I really like is that  74% of the sun's mass is made out of hydrogen.
110	What I think is the most interesting fact is that the sun’s denominator is  about 110 times wider than earth’s!
Star	Did you know that the sun is a star, and that it is our smallest star?!
99.86%	The sun actually makes up 99.86% of our mass!
8 minutes	The sun's light can easily reach earth in eight minutes.

Pull	The tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the Moon

What is it? Sun and Earth       Center of the Solar System     Most important source of energy on Earth.	The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System and is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth.
Sun’s gravity     Earth’s gravity   Earth orbits the Sun	The Sun’s gravity pulls Earth’s gravity into contact with it which makes it orbit the Sun.
Smallest star	The Sun is by far the smallest star in the  solar system, although it can fit  1000,000 Earths inside it!!!!

lunar month	A lunar month is the time the moon takes to pass through a complete cycle of its phases.
orbits	The Moon takes about 27 days (27 days, 7 hours, 43 minutes, 11.6 seconds) to go all the way around the Earth and return to its starting position.

Seasons:	The Seasons are Summer Autumn Winter Spring. Seasons happen because, The Earth rotates on a slight angle.
Tides:	On tides you need to do different things. The Tides are Low tide and high tide, on low tide the tide is out and on high tide the tide is in. The Moon and Sun pulls the tides on Earth.
