Community

On Friday 6 March we invited our parents and grandparents to come and have lunch with us, visit our room and to share with them what we have been doing in our classroom - as well as to have some fun!

We had a great time.  We showed our identity and culture work.

Our Art: we drew pictures of ourselves and thought about shapes and patterns.  Then, we used blending to create different shades for our skin colour.  We took photos of our eyes and ears.  Lastly, we found words that represented our identities.

We are proud of our art it is unique.  We all have our own identity!

We also shared about our own families and identities.  We drew enlarged maps of New Zealand we were able to show where our families come from using mapping skills.

Our parents looked at our other work and we had fun playing identity bingo with them and getting to know each other.

At the end of the day we joined the rest of Te Henga team and played tug o war and north, south, east, west.
It was great having fun with our families.
